Picturing the Smokies is a captivating portrait of the Smokies compiled exclusively from rare film preserved at the Tennessee Archive of Moving Image and Sound.


This hour-long compilation features unique footage captured by the home movie cameras of residents and visitors to the Smokies, as well as clips from early promotional films of the area. Set to a soundtrack of old time music, the film offers a unique perspective and an intimate glimpse of the park before, during and after its inception.
